CHIA PUDDING RECIPE
If you've been on
instagram recently, chances are that you've seen dozen photos of chia pudding... But is it really that good? Well, the answer is yes!
Chia is an edible seed that comes from a desert plant found in Mexico. Chia seeds are packed with goodness, they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, fibre and calcium. This is pretty much what you call a superfood. While it's great to add it to salads, yoghurts or smoothies, we especially love to turn it into yummy puddings.
THE BASIC RECIPE
Chia pudding is one of the easiest things to whip up in your kitchen. Start by pouring one cup of your favourite plant-based milk (we love coconut and almond) into a glass container (mason jars are great but any glass will do!) and stir in half a cup of chia seeds. Mix well with a spoon and place it in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight.
The best part about chia pudding is that you can top it up with anything that you have on hand. We love to add a few fruits, crushed almonds and toasted coconut for a delicious but healthy treat.
SPICE IT UP!
If you'd like to add more flavour to your chia pudding, you can stir in different ingredients. You can easily add cocoa powder, berry jam or nut butter to completely change the flavour.
A teaspoon of shredded coconut miwed in with your pudding will make it even more delicious!
If strawberries are not in season, why not try this delicious baked version? They're so good!
Add a few chuncks of high quality dark chocolate on top of your pudding for a decadent -yet healthy- treat
